Three Key Characteristics Define the Essence of Living Recovery

1. Make-A-Choice
We encourage men and women to work out their own recovery with tenderness of conscience. Our Christian 12-Step Program is non-denominational and uses the Bible as the spiritual foundation for the 12-Steps. Our Traditional 12-Step Program utilizes the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Basic Text of Narcotics Anonymous. Living Recovery endeavors to seamlessly incorporate the best of all recovery world views.

2. Focus on Truth
Although we provide a choice in recovery options, a Christian world view inspires all we do as a community. No one is told what to believe; however, Truth, the core element in one’s search for a Higher Power, is objectively addressed without bias.

3. Family Atmosphere
We feel that the only way to actually maintain a drug free environment is to have staff members live on-site with our residents. We are committed to providing a clean, safe home environment with help available available in real time which is critical in the early stages of recovery.

What Does “Living Recovery” Mean?

Living Recovery (n.) - A life rich in experience driven by power.
Antonym: Living Death (n.) - A life emptied of joys and satisfaction.

Living recovery (or discovery) is a teachable, tractable spiritual process. In the words of the Apostle Paul,

“As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn to do your work.

We pray that you'll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul – not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that He has for us."

“God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He's set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.”

The secret to a living recovery is learning how to tap in to the power that changes lives.

“God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He welcomes and recognizes anyone looking for help, no matter how desperate the trouble.”

The ability to make changes is at the heart of recovery – a vital component in relapse prevention. The greatest power on earth is the power to change (paraphrase taken from a Chinese Fortune Cookie). It is the power to leave behind a life emptied of joys and satisfaction in exchange for a life rich in experience driven by power.
